1. Like Jesus, John the Baptist and Joseph, they are usually born and brought up outside the religious-Church order.
Often, sons of the Kingdom defy the normal religious mould and so people, even their fathers, do not really understand God’s purposes with them till later -Mal. 4:6; Matt. 1:20; Lk. 1:17;
Gen. 37:10-11; Gen. 48:8.
What creation is waiting for is the manifestation of these Kingdom sons, not even for God. This is because God has given the authority of the earth to mankind – Rom. 8:19; Jn. 5:27.
The Church should integrate and reconcile them to the regular Church just as the Patriarch Jacob integrated the two Kingdom sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. These were born outside the regular ‘Church’ system, into the Church family.
Our father Jacob adopted them, put his divinely-given Kingdom-name of Israel on them and prophesied that, the whole earth will be blessed through Kingdom sons – Gen. 48:5, 16, 20.
2. Kingdom-sons are the undeclared or yet-to manifest generation of Jesus – Is. 53:8; Rom. 8:19.
Beloved, Kingdom sons will ‘repair’ the damage to creation as a result of the fall of man in Eden and its subsequent demonic and religious activities – Is. 61:1-4.
They will do this by overcoming religion and causing the earth to be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord Jesus in an overwhelming way, i.e. as the waters cover the sea – Hab. 2:13-14; Gen. 1:28; Obad. 21.
Their ‘repair’ work is partly going to bring about the “peace” that is needed for the second coming of Jesus – 1 Thess. 5:3; Acts 3:21ff; Rev. 19:7. You know, our Jesus will come at a time His enemies are under Him, not before.
Kingdom-sons will thus, set up the atmosphere of restoration for Jesus’ coming as the King of kings – Ps. 110:1-3.
3. Kingdom-sons have extra-ordinary faith like the centurion – Matt. 8:11-12.
Beloved, our Jesus prophesied that many would come from outside the mainstream religious church order. They would have different understandings and will enjoy Kingdom life with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; men noted for extra-ordinary faith.
The original Kingdom sons i.e. the religious Jews would be locked out of Kingdom life, because of their lack of this Kingdom-faith. This faithless condition is created by religion or their adherence to their own tried-and -tested spiritual inclinations and understandings – Matt. 8:11-12.
4. Kingdom-sons have the built-in capacity to contain the blessings of Heaven on earth – Mal. 3:10; Matt. 6:10.
Unlike Kingdom sons, many people do not have the mental and physical capacity and openness to contain Heaven on earth. These are easily impressed with successes and blessings.
And so like Job, they lack the attitudinal capacity or real willpower that is needed to receive more of Heaven – Job. 1:1-5, 42:12-17; Ps. 4:1; Is. 61:1-7.
5. Kingdom-sons have great fellowship with God – Jn. 15:2.
Their initial ‘rejection’ by people-of-the-spiritual-status quo, due to their outside-the religious understanding, drives them to link up extra-ordinarily with God.
You know, there are two branches in our Lord Jesus – the religious and the Kingdom ones. The hallmark of the Kingdom-ones is continual linkage or fellowship with the Vine Tree, which is Jesus.
The religious-ones are ‘cut off ’ from personal linkage with the Vine Tree, although they seem to be attached to it – Jn. 15:2, 5-6.
6. One of the greatest characteristics of Kingdom sons is enduring fruitfulness. This is due to their enduring practical link to Jesus the true Vine – Jn. 15:2, 16.
A typical Kingdom-person’s blessing, just as Josephs, is fruitfulness – Gen. 49:22. You know, it was at harvest or fruit exhibiting time that the Wheat i.e. Kingdom-sons were clearly
seen, and thus separated from the Tares, who are the religious – Matt. 13:30, 38.
Beloved, in order to bear fruit, you need to fellowship with God in prayer and Bible study to get the inspired or spoken Words of God. The Greek word translated ‘words’ in “…My words abide in you” – Jn. 15:7, is the ‘rhema’ or inspired/spoken Word.
In other words, it is the ‘rhema’ that brings fruitfulness or Kingdom-results. On the other hand, religious-people are led by the ‘logos’ or written Word/Bible; but Kingdom-sons are led by the ‘rhema’ and guarded by the ‘logos’; so they get fruitful.
Similarly, my friend, you should be led by the ‘rhema’ and guarded by the ‘logos’ to be fruitful in your ways. And ‘rhema’ comes to you through fellowship with God.
Yes, it takes a ‘Joshua’, from the fruitful tribe of Ephraim, to lead the Church to her Promised Land. This Joshua, even when he was ‘young and foot-loose’, just loved fellowshipping with God – Ex. 33:11.
7. The final feature of Kingdom-sons that I share with you is: humility.
Dear child of God, check out the humility of Joseph the son of Israel and the Centurion of Matt. 8:11-12. Humility is the unavoidable sign of anyone who has been rejected before, and as
such has been in fellowship with God.
Yes, anyone who has been isolated by men and been touched with God’s Presence will be humble. Also, note that, during the maturity or fruit-bearing time of a wheat plant, they bend under the weight or glory of their fruits. Such is the humble inner disposition of God’s wheat or Kingdom-sons. They ‘bend’ in humility.
These seven features of Kingdom sons also go for the Kingdom church that our dearest Jesus builds, for He builds it after Himself – Matt. 16:16-18. We should, therefore, seek and promote these qualities to birth the Kingdom practically.
