JESUS OUR PRESENT DAY PROPHET

Furthermore my friend, it was in the Old Testament that we had to: ‘believe in God to be established and believe His prophets to prosper’ – 2 Chron. 20:20.
Not exactly so now! Yes, we still have to believe God and His ‘prophets’; but not prophets after the manner of those who operated in the Old Testament.

Now, the Lord Jesus is our prophet – Heb. 1:1-2. Therefore now, we believe in God and believe also in Jesus as God’s Prophet or Word of God, in order to prosper in a manner pleasing to God – Jn. 14:1. You know, the Old Testament testifies or points to Jesus.
So what you read in the Old Testament is not a complete revelation in its self, as it is only fulfilled in Jesus Christ – Jn. 5:39, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me”.

So, note how our impeccable Jesus said that, after believing in God, we should believe also in Him – Jn. 14: 1,  “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me…” It is like the re-phrasing of 2 Chron. 20:20b, not so?
Beloved, in context, we are to believe that our exquisite Prophet or voice of God Jesus, is the dwelling place of God and as such of God’s multitudinous blessings – Jn. 14:11a,
“…Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me…”. Hallelujah!

In Christ, you are beyond micro-management

Beloved, it was in the Old Testa-ment that you needed to reach God through a human being; and also the people of God were micro-managed by their leaders.
Once again, I do not mean that you don’t need counsel from humans. I rather mean that you do not need to be micromanaged in counsel or for anybody to micro-manage a believer, in the face of the believer’s new status and pedigree before God in Jesus.

Beloved, now that Jesus has died on the Cross, He has already put His ‘mind’ deep within you – 1 Cor. 2:16. He has also made all His believers priests, who can each access God directly through His Blood that made a way into the Holy of Holies – Heb. 10:19; 4:15-16.
Yes now, God has upgraded the ordinary believer to a place in Jesus where he can know God’s will for himself directly. He has this ability or anointing, unlike most people of God in most part of the Old Testament. Wow!
The ordinary believer is now a special-priest who is not just tilted to the spiritual, but is balanced to rule as a king in this life at the same time. Hallelujah!
That’s a special breed of priests that this earth has not known before – 1 Pet. 2:9. So stop comparing yourself to the people of God who lived before Jesus died.

God is not far anymore

Dear child of God, it was in the Old Testament (when Jesus had not died) that we needed to draw near to God. Now, by the Blood of Jesus we are near God already, as believers living in Him – Eph. 2:13, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

Praise be to God!.

So, you are already near God because you live in Christ Jesus, where God permanently lives too. I know that sometimes you feel God is far away. But, He is not.
It is sinners or unbelievers who have a distance to cover with God – Jas. 4:8, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded”.

The Kingdom-level of relating

Ladies and Gentlemen, living in Jesus is the ultimate disposition that you can attain to. All other revelations of the way mankind can relate with God are lower than this. They may be okay, but it does not fully glorify the Performance of Jesus Christ for us, like relating with Jesus as being in Him.

Beloved, living in Jesus is what God has planned for all of creation in the fullness of time. At that time, God will gather into one all things in Christ Jesus, both in Heaven and on earth.
Your living as someone residing spiritually in Jesus now is God’s highest level or Kingdom-way of relating with mankind.
This is because that is how it is going to be in the full Kingdom era to come – Eph. 1: 10-13,
“…that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in Heaven and which are on earth – in Him.”

So, your living in Jesus now is the guarantee that you will live in Him in the world to come. Hallelujah!
