John the Baptist also, who began teaching the Kingdom of God in a shadow form, spoke much about the socio-economic issues of people’s lives – Lk. 3:7-15.These were his recorded messages that formed the Scriptures.
And these were perfectly understandable in the Jewish culture in which both His Forerunner John and Jesus Christ Himself grew up in. This is unlike in some ‘Christian’ cultures that seem allergic to hearing God’s mind on finances.
No wonder, such ‘closed’ societies and people’s abound in financial lack, unlike Jewish societies, both then and now.
The Jewish prophets and Laws always taught that, when God blessed a person through his obedience, among other things, the person became elevated and rich financially – Deut. 28:1ff.
