“Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He will declare justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel nor cry out, nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets…till He sends forth justice to victory.” – Matt. 12:18-20.
In context, this quote is about our dearest Jesus restraining some people He had healed, from broadcasting what He had done for them. It was because some Pharisees wanted to destroy Him – See Matt. 12: 13-16.
Declare justice
But, the quote was not only for that moment in Jesus’ lifetime. It also describes a principle of Kingdom declarations that was prophesied by Isaiah that, our dear Jesus would engage in on earth – Is. 42:1-4.
Now, note the underlined phrases “declare justice” and “send forth justice”. It means that what is declared or spoken is actually sent forth. That is how Kingdom words are. They are sent into the world to fulfill a Kingdom-agenda, which is to plant or ground the decrees of Heaven on earth – Is. 51:16, Matt. 6:10.
Now, in context, what Jesus declared or announced was justice or judgement. ‘Justice’ or ‘judgement’ controls what is rightly due people. So what is rightly due to people can be declared or sent forth against all elements that oppose it. In other words, what is rightly due people should be spoken, confessed or ‘roared’.
